Say what you want about J.Crew and it's all-American aesthetic, but they continue to carve there their place out in the design landscape. If you're still not convinced, maybe GQ, the self-appointed men's style bible's endorsement will you a believer.
The magazine has just included J.Crew's Frank Muytjens in their line-up of nominees for designer of the year. Muytjens joins a list that includes: Billy Reid, Richard Chai, Unis (designed by Eunice Lee), Caulfied Preparatory's Vincent Flumiani, and Doug and Ben Burkman of Burkman Brothers. The list of hopefuls were hand picked by GQ's Editor-in-Chief Jim Nelson and Creative Director, Jim Moore.
The winners we chosen later this month by a panel of judges, and all six nominees will be featured in the March issue of GQ. The timing couldn't be better for J.Crew, who's Spring/ Summer is beginning to hit stores. The collection includes reinterpretations of the classics that the brand has become known for, and more collabos with labels like Rogues Gallery, Baracuta, Mister Freedom, Alden, Red WIng and more.
